Scholarships and Benefits

• UNAB Living Expenses Scholarship

A monthly stipend of CLP 768,000, adjusted based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), is provided from March through February. Renewable annually for up to 8 or 9 semesters, depending on the program. Covers the entire period of active enrollment in the Ph.D. program.

• Tuition Scholarship

Full annual tuition waiver, awarded based on academic merit during the admission process. Renewable through the official duration of the program (8–9 semesters).

The Tuition Scholarship may be combined with the ANID Scholarship and the UNAB Living Expenses Scholarship.

• Research Internships Abroad

Internal funding competitions for research stays at international universities or research centers lasting between 3 and 10 months. Available to currently enrolled UNAB Ph.D. students who are actively working on their dissertations.

• UNAB Research Initiation Competition

Through a competitive process, UNAB provides partial funding for expenses associated with outstanding doctoral dissertation projects, up to CLP 5,000,000 for a period of up to two years.

• Conference Registration Support

Once a year, UNAB funds registration for national or international conferences at which your research has been accepted for presentation.

We offer a comprehensive support system that extends beyond academics. You will have access to mental health counseling, well-being workshops, activities and sports facilities, support for students who are parents, guidance to help international students settle in Chile, a relocation grant for nonresident international students (CLP 600,000), and an exclusive coworking space for Ph.D. students.

Non-graded workshops help you develop skills that enhance your employability: university-level teaching, scientific writing, academic English, communicating research findings to non-specialist audiences, intellectual property, and research entrepreneurship.
